This 16-day journey is designed for both professional anglers and their families. From Ha Long Bay to the mountains of Ha Tinh, the caves of Phong Nha, and the ancient towns of Hue and Hoi An, the program combines world-class fishing experiences with diverse cultural and leisure activities.

For anglers, Vietnam offers an incredible diversity of fishing environments: rivers, lakes, streams, and offshore seas. Each location provides unique challenges and opportunities, from chasing snapper and grouper in Ha Long Bay, to deep-sea fishing at Cham Island.

One of the highlights is the chance to pursue the legendary Mahseer in Ha Tinh province, near the Laos border. Mahseer is on the “must-catch once in a lifetime” list of international sport fishermen. Incredibly rare and notoriously hard to catch, Mahseer only inhabits fast-flowing forest streams with crystal-clear water and rich oxygen levels. To seek them, anglers must trek through pristine forests, cross untamed streams, and camp by one of the most beautiful lakes of Ha Tinh. The landscape here is breathtakingly wild, almost like stepping into a Jurassic world — untouched, primeval, and barely influenced by human presence. This is a true wilderness adventure that few have ever experienced.

For family members who do not fishing. They can enjoy:

• Boat rides through spectacular rivers and limestone landscapes.
• Cycling through peaceful villages and rice fields.
• Exploring UNESCO heritage sites such as Phong Nha Cave, Hue Imperial Citadel, My Son Sanctuary, and Hoi An Ancient Town.
• Family-friendly activities such as zipline and mud bath at Dark Cave, Fantasy Park at Ba Na Hills, lantern-making workshops in Hoi An, snorkeling and coral watching in Cham Island.
• Evening highlights include royal court music in Hue and the grand Hoi An Memories Show.

DAY 1: HA NOI

·       Pick up at Noi Bai International Airport.

·       Transfer to hotel for check-in and rest after the flight.

·       Evening: join a Hanoi Old Quarter food tour – tasting signature dishes such as beef pho, bun cha, steamed rice rolls, banh mi, fried spring rolls, sweet soups, and egg coffee.

·       Brief introduction to the 15-day fishing program, checking personal equipment, and assisting guests with purchasing bait, lines, etc.

 

DAY 2: HANOI CITY TOUR

Morning: visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Ba Dinh Square, One Pillar Pagoda, and the Temple of Literature.

Lunch at a local restaurant.

Afternoon: visit Hoan Kiem Lake, Ngoc Son Temple, and take a walking tour through the Old Quarter.

Time for fishing gear preparation and shopping.

 

DAY 3 : HA NOI – HA LONG BAY

• Early departure for Ha Long.
• Lunch with fresh seafood in Ha Long.
• Afternoon: transfer by boat/speedboat to Ha Long Bay, check in to floating house/raft.
• Afternoon activities: rest and prepare for night fishing. Various fishing styles are possible here with diverse catches such as snapper, grouper, cobia, etc.
• Beside fishing, whole family can try swimming, kayaking, or relaxing on deck with panoramic views.
• Dinner: enjoy freshly caught seafood on the raft.

 

DAY 4 : HA LONG BAY – NIGHT FISHING

• Morning: kayaking, fishing, swimming, cave exploration, and beach visits.
• Lunch with freshly caught seafood on the raft.
• Afternoon & evening: fishing and squid fishing at night – best chances to encounter large fish.

DAY 5: HA LONG – NINH BINH

• Depart Ha Long, drive to Ninh Binh.
• Lunch with local specialties such as mountain goat and crispy rice.
• Afternoon: boat trip in Tam Coc/Trang An, enjoying the stunning limestone scenery.
• Evening free to explore Ninh Binh city or rest.

DAY 6 : NINH BINH – FISHING & SIGHTSEEING

• Fishing experience in local lakes, streams, and rivers.

• Whole family visit Hoa Lu Ancient Capital, cycle through villages, explore traditional markets, enjoy a leisurely boat ride through rice paddies, join a local cooking class, or experience traditional handicraft workshops (such as embroidery or pottery) that are fun and suitable for all ages.

• Afternoon: group gathering to share fishing results.

DAY 7 : NINH BINH – HA TINH

• Long drive to Huong Son, Ha Tinh
• Check in and take a rest at a hotel. Free time to rest and explore Ha Tinh at night, have dinner at your own expense.

DAY 8 : HA TINH: FISHING & CULTURAL EXPERIENCE

Having breakfast at the hotel or local restaurant.

– 7:00 am: Our car picks you up and departs for Huong Son, Ha Tinh province.

– 10:00 am: Arrive at the rally point, start the journey to conquer Mahseer fishes. We use inflatable boat. Go around big lake.

– You will follow the stream and select appropriate fishing sites to catch Mahseer.

– Once you reach the campsite, have lunch, and relax.

Continue your journey upstream to find Mahseer.

– Mahseer’s ideal habitat is rivers and streams deep in the forest, areas without human footprints, with fast-flowing water and high levels of oxygen. The two main species found in these areas are Blue Mahseer and Stracheyi Mahseer. You could be fortunate enough to catch a large Mahseer.

– Return to the campsite, and have a meal of mountain specialties. You can also spend the night fishing for catfish and other native fish.

 

DAY 9 : HA TINH

• Morning:

– Waking up to welcome the sunrise, having breakfast and enjoy a cup of morning coffee.

– Depart along the big lake, fishing at any suitable spot.

– Arrive at the new camping site, have lunch, and take a break.

• Afternoon:

– Continue downward the stream to catch Mahseer

Having dinner and staying overnight. You can also spend the night fishing for catfish and other native fish.

 

 

DAY 10 : HA TINH – PHONG NHA CAVE

Morning: Depart for Quang Binh.

Visit Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park, take a boat trip into Phong Nha Cave.

• Fishing option: Try stream fishing near the homestay.
• Family option: Explore the cave by boat, cycle around local villages, enjoy local snacks.

Evening: Relax, taste Quang Binh specialties (fish porridge, tapioca dumplings).

 

DAY 11: PHONG NHA CAVE – NUOC MOOC STREAM

Morning: Visit Nuoc Mooc Stream – crystal-clear water all year round.

Light fishing in the stream.

Beside fishing, whole family can joint  Swimming, zipline adventure, mud bath in Dark Cave, cycling through rural villages, eco-walks.

Evening: Relax and overnight in Nuoc Mooc Stream.

 

DAY 12: PHONG NHA – HUE

• Our car picks you up and departs for Hue city
• On the way: Stop at Hien Luong Bridge and Ben Hai River (historic 17th parallel).
• Late lunch in Hue.
• Afternoon: Visit Hue Imperial Citadel.
• Visit Thien Mu Pagoda, Khai Dinh Mausoleum, shop at Dong Ba Market.
• Family highlight: Dong Ba Market offers local snacks and souvenirs.
• Enjoy royal court music show and Hue cuisine (bun bo Hue, rice cakes).

 

DAY 13 : HUE – BA NA HILLS – DA NANG

• Transfer to Ba Na Hills, take the cable car and check in at Golden Bridge.
• Explore Sunworld amusement park.

Family highlight: Kids can enjoy Fantasy Park indoor playground, flower gardens, and fun games.

• Seafood dinner in Da Nang.

 

DAY 14 : DA NANG – MY SON – HOI AN

• Visit My Son Sanctuary (Cham culture heritage).
• Afternoon: Travel to Hoi An, explore the Ancient Town, Japanese Covered Bridge, and walk along the Hoai River.
• Evening:
• Fishing option: Try light fishing near Hoi An riverside.
• Family option: Lantern boat ride, join a lantern-making workshop, taste local dishes such as cao lau and chicken rice.

 

 

 

DAY 15 : HOI AN – CHAM ISLAND

• Morning: Speedboat to Cham Island.
• Fishing option: Offshore fishing with local fishermen.
• Family option: Snorkeling, coral watching, beach swimming.
• Afternoon: Enjoy a seafood lunch on the island, relax by the sea.
• Evening: Return to Hoi An, watch the Hoi An Memories Show.

DAY 16 : HOI AN – DA NANG

• Morning: Free time for shopping, relaxing, spa, or coffee tasting.
• Depending on flight schedule: Transfer to Da Nang Airport.
