The final day offered two fantastic options, and my group chose a mix of both to maximize the experience.
Option 1: The Vibrancy of Can Tho
The early start was absolutely worth it. We set off by sampan at 5:30 AM to witness the spectacular Cai Rang floating market. This is the biggest wholesale floating market in the Mekong Delta River, a truly mesmerizing, kaleidoscopic scene of trading boats laden with colorful fruits and vegetables. We experienced the local life firsthand, sipping strong Vietnamese coffee right on the river, the air filled with the cheerful haggling of vendors. It was a chaotic, beautiful, and authentic slice of Vietnamese commerce.
Returning for breakfast, we checked out and made a vital cultural stop: the Binh Thuy ancient house. Stepping into this beautifully preserved French-colonial-era mansion, with its distinctive architecture and lush grounds, was like traveling back in time.
